Natasha Mamdani: Pregnancy Provides a Unique Window into a Woman’s Future Cardiovascular Health
Natasha Mamdani, Cardiologist at Wellstar Health System, shared on LinkedIn:
“Pregnancy provides a unique window into a woman’s future cardiovascular health, as pregnancy-related complications and cardiometabolic changes may identify women at higher risk of cardiovascular disease later in life.
However, many women are lost to care during their postpartum period (and beyond), creating a missed opportunity for early risk identification and intervention.
The pregnancy and postpartum period represent a critical opportunity to educate women about their long-term cardiovascular risk, promote healthy lifestyle changes, and ensure appropriate follow-up to reduce their future risk of cardiovascular disease.
Let’s educate, increase awareness, and provide the care they need.”
