Gunjan Guupta Govil։ A PGT-A Report Can Contain Several Different Embryo Categories…
Gunjan Guupta Govil, Founder and Director of Gunjan IVF Gift Academy and Gunjan IVF World, shared on LinkedIn։
“A PGT-A report can contain several different embryo categories…
…and understanding what each result means is important before making treatment decisions.
PGT-A can report embryos as euploid, aneuploid, low-level mosaic, high-level mosaic, complex aneuploid, or chaotic, depending on the findings and the laboratory’s reporting system.
A euploid result shows the expected chromosome complement.
An aneuploid result shows a gain or loss of chromosomes.
Mosaic results show a mixture of normal and abnormal signals and need careful interpretation.
Complex aneuploid results involve multiple chromosome abnormalities, while some laboratories use “chaotic” for widespread abnormalities.
But one point is especially important.
A PGT-A result should never be viewed in isolation.
The laboratory’s criteria, the biopsy findings, and the patient’s overall clinical picture all matter.
Good fertility care is not just about understanding a report.
It is about understanding what that report means for the individual patient.”
