Tiffany Hill: It’s National Fertility Awareness Week, and It’s Very Close to My Heart
Tiffany Hill, Lead Tutor (Associate) of Flagship Program and Mentor Coach at Barefoot Coaching, shared on LinkedIn:
”This week is National Fertility Awareness Week, which is very close to my heart.
1 in 6 people will experience infertility in their lifetime.
And yet, when I was going through fertility treatment, I don’t think I ever felt more isolated or alone.
For almost a decade, it felt like everyone around me was pregnant, and no one else seemed to be experiencing the fertility struggles that we were.
Because it was such a personal situation, with so many ups and downs, we didn’t always want people to know.
Thankfully, things have changed, and there is much more visibility around fertility and the impact it can have.
Some organisations now offer fertility coaching, providing a confidential space to talk to someone who understands. Coaching groups can also help people connect with others on a similar journey and feel less alone.
Having that support would have been life-changing for me.
If you are in the midst of fertility treatment right now, please know that you aren’t alone. There are people who can listen, support you and be in your corner.
If you’d like to know more about the support available, please feel free to reach out.”
