A fetal karyotype was performed following an ultrasound examination that showed multiple developmental abnormalities.

The fetus showed severe growth restriction along with abnormalities involving multiple organ systems. The ultrasound findings raised suspicion of an underlying chromosomal abnormality, so a fetal karyotype was performed.
