Vicki Robinson: Northern Ireland Becomes First in UK to Offer Miscarriage Bereavement Leave
Vicki Robinson, Chief Executive Officer at The Miscarriage Association, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Thank you to BBC News for giving such space to the topic of bereavement leave for miscarriage this morning (Northern Ireland today becomes the first country in the UK to offer this).
Big thanks also to our Miscarriage Association volunteers and advocates Anna Malnutt and Erin Sharkey for sharing their experiences of pregnancy loss and work and what this law change would have meant for them.
From 2027, bereavement leave for pre-24 week loss will also be available in England, Scotland and Wales. Initially it will be unpaid, but we will keep up the pressure on the Government to follow NI’s lead.”
