Aumatma Simmons: Chronic Stress Can Impact Male Reproductive Health
Aumatma Simmons, Co-Founder, Chief Fertility Officer at Madre Fertility, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Stress doesn’t just affect mental performance—it can also influence reproductive health.
When discussing fertility, the conversation often centers on women. However, growing evidence suggests that chronic stress can also impact male reproductive health.
Research has linked prolonged stress with changes in:
- Sperm production
- Sperm quality and motility
- Sperm DNA integrity
- Testosterone levels
- Sexual function
While stress is rarely the sole cause of infertility, it is one of several modifiable factors that deserves attention in a comprehensive fertility evaluation.
For healthcare providers and those trying to conceive alike, this is an important reminder: supporting fertility means looking beyond lab results and considering the whole person—including their physical and emotional well-being.
How do you incorporate stress management into your approach to optimizing health and fertility?”
