A Single LH Reading Is Just One Data Point, Not a Verdict – Fertility Plus
Fertility Plus shared a post on LinkedIn:
“When your fertility clinic tells you your luteinising hormone (LH) is “low” right before your trigger shot, it can be easy to panic. However, a study of 544 IVF antagonist cycles found that a low LH reading at the end of the follicular phase doesn’t predict the success of your fresh embryo transfer!
The research indicates:
- Live Birth Rate: 17% in the lowest LH group vs. 23.5% in the highest (P=0.53).
- Implantation Rate: Nearly identical across groups, ranging from 24.3% to 25.6% (P=0.69).
- Early Pregnancy Loss: No clear pattern linked to LH levels, ranging from 7.5% to 11.9% (P=0.58).
So remember, a single LH reading is just one data point—not a verdict! Patients and clinicians can make confident decisions about fresh versus freeze transfers based on the complete clinical picture without unnecessary stress or costs.”
