Mercedes Espada Vaquero: Advancing Awareness and Care for Adolescent Endometriosis
Mercedes Espada Vaquero, Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Adventist HealthCare Limited, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper published in MDPI:
“New publication alert
Thrilled to share our new paper – ‘Endometriosis During Adolescence: A Narrative Review’ – published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine!
Co-authors: Caroline Mathias, George Condous
Published by MDPI in the Journal of Clinical Medicine, with collaboration from University of Sydney and Nepean Hospital – and supported by networks advancing women’s health such as Endometriosis Australia, RANZCOG (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists), and Journal of Clinical Medicine.
Adolescence is a crucial window for recognising Endometriosis, yet diagnosis is often delayed by several years (even more than in adulthood). Our review explores why early, multidisciplinary care is essential to improving long-term outcomes and quality of life.
Huge thanks to everyone contributing to advances in Women’s Health and Adolescent Health. Let’s keep the conversation going – collaboration is key to transforming care for young people affected by endometriosis.”
