Muhammad Saad: New Evidence Links Endometriosis to Higher Cardiovascular Risk
Muhammad Saad, Clinical Research Analyst at RCOP, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper published in European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Biology:
“I’m honored to share that the recent paper I led, ‘Increased Risk of Cardiovascular Disease in Women with Endometriosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis,’ has been covered by EndoNews, one of the world’s leading platforms for evidence-based updates in endometriosis research.
The feature also includes a note from the Editor-in-Chief, highlighting the significance of our findings and their contribution to understanding endometriosis as a systemic condition with long-term cardiovascular implications.
Our study, published in the European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, analyzed data from nearly 1.5 million women across multiple countries. The results reveal a concerning pattern: women with endometriosis face significantly higher risks of stroke, ischemic heart disease, arrhythmias, and major adverse cardiovascular events.
A heartfelt thank you to the Research Council of Pakistan and to the leadership team, Dr. Shahzeb Khan, Dr. Kaneez, Dr. Shariq Usman, and Dr. Tariq, for equipping us with the skills that made this work possible.
Grateful to my co-authors, collaborators, and to EndoNews for helping bring attention to this important topic in women’s health.
