“Growing Sperm Starter Cells in the Lab: Hope for Future Fertility Treatments
Scientists are making progress in growing the ‘starter cells’ that create sperm in the lab. Early results are encouraging, showing these cells can survive and develop under special conditions. However, making fully healthy sperm outside the body is still not possible yet—the main challenge is recreating the natural environment of the testicles. With more research, this breakthrough could become a new source of hope for men struggling with infertility.
