“The authors present US national data showing a progressive decline in IVF success rates – a finding that challenges assumptions about technological progress in reproductive medicine.
They speculate on the possible detrimental impact of add-ons, highlighting an important reality: changes and more advanced technologies are not always a guarantee of improvement. While robust conclusions cannot be drawn from this observational study on a national register alone, it serves as an important signal.
This study forces us to think critically and question ourselves: Are we truly improving patient outcomes, or are we adding complexity without clear benefit? A timely reminder of the importance of evidence-based practice in fertility treatment.
