Biochemical Pregnancy in IVF, Why Chromosomes Aren’t the Whole Story? – Fertility Plus

“Biochemical Pregnancy in IVF: Why Chromosomes Aren’t the Whole Story
Did you know that despite advances in embryo genetic testing, biochemical pregnancy — a positive test that resolves before a gestational sac is visible — affects around 1 in 5 IVF cycles? Surprisingly, this occurs at identical rates whether or not a chromosomally normal embryo is transferred.
New research highlights that factors like early trophoblast biology, endometrial blood flow, immune environment, and luteal phase support play significant roles in biochemical pregnancy loss. These factors are outside the reach of PGT-A and ERA testing.
Understanding these elements is crucial for improving IVF outcomes!
