The Case for PGT-A, Preventing Avoidable Suffering in Assisted Reproduction! – Collectif BAMP Association

In France, 75% of embryos transferred in assisted reproduction do not result in a live birth.

In many cases, because the embryos are not viable.

The result: long journeys, heavy treatments, repeated failures, miscarriages, medical terminations of pregnancy.

Suffering that could be avoided if PGD-A were authorized.

PGD-A is a test that identifies non-viable embryos before they are transferred. It is authorized in the majority of European countries.

In France, it remains banned.

While the 2026 General Assembly on Bioethics puts these issues back at the heart of the public debate, today we are launching ‘Jamais Portés’  a campaign to call for the legalization of PGD-A.
