Cherrie Lynn Evans: Implementing Postpartum Haemorrhage Guidelines in the IJGO Supplement on AMPLI-PPHI
Cherrie Lynn Evans, Technical Consultant at World Health Organization, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I am pleased to announce the publication of a Supplement in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, which outlines a path forward for implementing a subset of the Consolidated Guidelines for the Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Postpartum Haemorrhage (PPH).
Deaths from PPH exhibit the greatest disparity between high and low-income countries, and it is evident that we know what needs to be done. We have a clear set of guidelines and a proven training approach, yet these deaths continue to occur.
In my 35 years of clinical and public health work, I have come to understand that the barrier lies in implementation. Learning from the AMPLI-PPHI project can provide valuable insights to help move the needle.”
