35% Higher Risk of Birth Defects Linked to Alcohol Use Before Conception – Explain
Explain shared a post on LinkedIn:
“NEW STUDY: Men who drink alcohol before conception could raise the risk of birth defects by up to 35%!
Research in The European Journal of Preventive Cardiology shows alcohol can affect sperm DNA, motility, and gene expression, impacting long-term development.
Even moderate drinking in the 3 months before conception matters — that’s how long it takes for sperm to fully regenerate.
Experts now suggest a 90-day alcohol-free reset for healthier sperm, embryos, and babies.”
