Lamia Sayegh: The “Law of Series” in Reproductive Medicine
Lamia Sayegh, Specialist in Infertility at Fakih IVF Fertility Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The ‘Law of Series’ in Reproductive Medicine
Every reproductive medicine doctor knows this phenomenon:
You see one rare, complicated case…
Then suddenly, another appears.
And another.
And you start wondering if the universe has decided to run a clinical trial without informing you.
- One difficult ultrasound – three more complicated scans.
- One unusual endocrine profile – suddenly everyone has an endocrine mystery.
- One challenging IVF case – your inbox seems to receive a whole collection of them
Perhaps that’s the unofficial Law of Series in medicine:
Rare cases never come alone.
But there is something beautiful about this journey.
- Every difficult case teaches us something.
- Every unexpected outcome makes us rethink.
- Every challenging patient pushes us to learn more, collaborate more, and become better clinicians.
Reproductive medicine is a journey of science, uncertainty, patience, resilience-and occasionally, a very good sense of humour.
Because behind every ‘interesting case’ is a real person, a real story, and often a very important dream.
And that is what keeps us going.”
