Pietro Molinaro: Changing the Way We Approach Embryo Transfer in Women Over 40
Pietro Molinaro, Reproductive Doctor at IVI RMA Global, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in Fertility and Sterility:
“I’m thrilled to see our work finally published in Fertility and Sterility.
This is a highly relevant and timely topic and one that, in my view, could have a real impact on clinical practice.
In women over 40, modified natural-cycle embryo transfer does not compromise reproductive outcomes and, in autologous cycles, is also associated with a higher likelihood of live birth.
This is particularly relevant because it opens up an important option for a group of patients who may benefit the most, given the higher obstetric risk associated with advancing maternal age and the potential advantages of a more physiological approach.
I believe this study may help change the way we approach embryo transfer in women over 40 and stimulate a very practical discussion about our day-to-day clinical practice.”
