Vaibhav Modgil: Testosterone Deficiency and Replacement Therapy
Vaibhav Modgil, Professor at the University of Manchester, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in Nature Reviews Urology:
“Years in the making. Delighted to finally see this published in Nature Reviews Urology.
Our comprehensive review, ‘Update on testosterone deficiency and therapeutic options for testosterone replacement therapy’, is now available.
Testosterone deficiency and its treatment remain subjects of considerable clinical debate, evolving evidence and, increasingly, misinformation.
Our ambition was to produce one of the most definitive and comprehensive evidence-based updates of its kind, bringing together the latest research on diagnosis, treatment options, efficacy and safety to help inform clinical decision-making.
Good clinical practice must be grounded in good evidence. Particularly in an area where public interest and clinical practice continue to evolve.
A huge thank you to my co-authors Thomas Thompson, Mohamed Mubarak, Hugh Jones and Prof. Ian Pearce for their expertise, patience and perseverance throughout this project. It has been a long journey, but one we hope will make a meaningful contribution to the field.
Proud of this collaborative achievement and grateful to Nature Reviews Urology for publishing our work.”
