Emily Kostina: How and Why Does the Placenta Develop, and What It Does During Pregnancy?
Emily Kostina, Ecosystem Associate at Pillar VC, shared on LinkedIn:
”What is the placenta?
A temporary organ, a messenger, a tree, a lifeline…
Have you ever wondered how and why the placenta develops and what it does during pregnancy?
This is exactly what we study every day in the Pregnancy Physiology Laboratory at The Francis Crick Institute. We’ve recently received a Crick Public Engagement grant, and we’re so excited to share our lab’s work with you!
Together with artist Stiliyana Minkovska, we’re turning the science into art: a morning of co-creation to help us make sense of complicated ideas and lived experiences, side by side.
A new parent? Or simply curious about women’s health, anatomy and biology?
Come and create with us.
