“Ultrasound-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound is technically feasible and safe for occluding placental vessels in early-onset twin-twin transfusion syndrome – Color Doppler assessment of occlusion
The ultrasound image on the left shows pretreatment color Doppler imaging of placental vasculature. The intended target is ringed with yellow. The image on the right shows the same placental vessel and area after exposure of the target to HIFU, demonstrating ‘no flow’ within the targeted vessel.”
