Clare Mansfield: Flowering Fertility Support Programme Was Independently Evaluated by Health Innovation Hub Ireland

“I want to share something we are genuinely proud of.
The Flowering Fertility Support Programme was independently evaluated by Health Innovation Hub Ireland (HIHI).
For us, this was an important milestone.
The evaluation used a mixed-methods approach, combining pre- and post-programme surveys with follow-up participant interviews.
Ethical approval was obtained from the University College Cork Social Research Ethics Committee before participant recruitment and data collection.
The evaluation looked beyond whether participants simply ‘liked’ the programme.
It explored their experiences and the programme’s perceived impact across areas including:
- Emotional wellbeing.
- Confidence and self-advocacy.
- Fertility-related knowledge.
- Peer connection.
- Clarity around fertility pathways.
- Unmet needs within existing fertility support.
And behind all of that are real people navigating one of the most emotionally demanding periods of their lives.
Independent evaluation matters to us because Flowering Fertility is being built on three things:
- Evidence.
- Lived experience.
- And listening deeply to the people we are here to support.
We want to contribute to a future where fertility care supports the whole person — not only the treatment they are undergoing.
We’re incredibly proud of how far Flowering Fertility has come.
And we’re only getting started.
