ACOG Joins Coalition to Advance National Women’s Health Strategy – ACOG

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Today, ACOG joined the Society for Women’s Health Research and the Women First Research Coalition in launching the National Strategy to Close the Women’s Health Gap. ACOG CEO Sandra E. Brooks, spoke at the launch event in Washington, D.C., to express how important this strategy—and Congress’s investment—will be for the future of women’s health.

‘… Gaps in knowledge and options have created space for misinformation to flourish. Women increasingly turn to social media, influencers, and unproven treatments because they are desperate for information and relief,’ said Dr. Brooks. ‘Too often, others profit from that uncertainty. When the research and evidence [are] lacking, misinformation fills the void. That is one reason why we cannot afford to wait any longer to address this gap.’

Together, we’re urging Congress to make a sustained investment in women’s health through a coordinated national effort to ensure that women benefit from scientific discovery, medical innovation, and evidence-based care throughout every stage of life.”
