Aumatma Simmons: Chronological Age Isn’t the Whole Fertility Story…

Aumatma Simmons, Co-Founder and Chief Fertility Officer at Madre Fertility, shared on LinkedIn:

“Chronological Age Isn’t the Whole Fertility Story.

Chronological age is an important factor in fertility, but it doesn’t capture the full picture of a person’s health.

The concept of biological age highlights how factors such as:

  • Hormone balance
  • Inflammation
  • Nutrient status
  • Metabolic and gut health
  • Stress
  • Mitochondrial function
  • Lifestyle

can influence how the body functions over time.

Two people of the same chronological age can have very different health profiles.

Key Insight:

We can’t change chronological age, but many aspects of health and lifestyle are modifiable.

Rather than focusing only on the number, fertility care should also consider the overall physiological environment supporting reproduction.

How do you incorporate modifiable health factors into conversations about age and fertility?”
