Aumatma Simmons։ How Do You Approach Low Progesterone When Evaluating Fertility?

Aumatma Simmons, Co-Founder and Chief Fertility Officer at Madre Fertility, shared on LinkedIn:

“Low Progesterone May Be a Clue – Not the Whole Problem.

Progesterone is an important hormone for ovulation and early pregnancy, but a low result doesn’t necessarily tell us why it’s low.

  • Egg health
  • Hormonal balance
  • Timing of progesterone testing

Progesterone is typically assessed about 7 days after ovulation, rather than relying on a fixed cycle day.

Key Insight:
Instead of treating one lab value in isolation, look at the factors influencing ovulation and reproductive health as a whole.
