Rahul Manoj: Role of an Embryologist in IVF Labs
Rahul Manoj, Senior Embryologist at Best Life Fertility Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Day 2
Role of an Embryologist in IVF Labs
An embryologist plays a critical role in every step of the IVF process:
- Oocyte Handling: Identifying and assessing oocytes after retrieval.
- Sperm Preparation: Processing sperm samples for optimal fertilization.
- Fertilization: Performing IVF or ICSI procedures.
- Embryo Culture: Monitoring embryo development from zygote to blastocyst.
- Embryo Selection: Grading embryos based on morphology.
- Cryopreservation: Freezing surplus gametes or embryos for future use.
- Lab Maintenance: Ensuring incubator calibration, air quality, and aseptic conditions.
In your view, which step is most critical for IVF success – oocyte quality, sperm selection, or embryo culture conditions?
I have shared you the weekly roster, let me know it’s of any help.”
