Lowell Ku: Humbled to Receive the 2026 Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award for Practicing Physicians
Lowell Ku, Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility, and Reproductive Surgeon at Dallas IVF, shared on LinkedIn:
“I’m incredibly humbled and grateful to receive the 2026 Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award for Practicing Physicians from ASRM.
Of all the recognition a physician can receive, being honored for humanism in medicine means something very personal to me.
Long before I was ‘Dr. Knocked Up,’ my wife and I were infertility patients ourselves.
I remember the uncertainty, the disappointment, the waiting, and how much it mattered to have people caring for us who understood that we were more than a diagnosis or a treatment plan.
That experience has stayed with me throughout my career.
Science guides so much of what I do, but I’ve always believed that how we care for people matters just as much.
Patients deserve to be heard.
They deserve honesty and compassion.
They deserve a physician who understands how much hope, fear, and trust they are placing in our hands.
I’m deeply grateful to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation for this honor, to my colleagues and the incredible team I have the privilege of working alongside, and especially to my patients.
Thank you for trusting me with something as personal and precious as your hopes of building a family. That trust will always mean more to me than any award.”
