An interesting and uncommon observation in the IVF laboratory: two oocyte-like structures enclosed within a single zona pellucida, identified before ICSI.
The two components show different cytoplasmic morphology, highlighting the importance of careful assessment of nuclear maturity, polar body status, membrane integrity, and signs of degeneration before proceeding with ICSI.
Cases like this remind us that embryology is full of fascinating biological variations – and that every oocyte deserves careful observation.”
