Ever Wondered How Ovulation Works? Let’s Break It Down! – Fertility Plus

“Understanding hCG and Its Role in Ovulation!
Ever wondered how ovulation works? Let’s break it down!
During a normal menstrual cycle, several follicles start growing, but only one becomes the dominant follicle that releases an egg. This process is triggered by a hormone called LH (luteinising hormone).
Enter hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin)! This hormone is often used in fertility treatments to trigger ovulation when the body needs a little help.
Here’s the twist: If hCG is introduced after the dominant follicle is ready, it can stimulate not just that follicle but also subordinate ones that were on their way out. The result? Instead of releasing just one egg, you might get multiple eggs!
This can increase the chances of twins or more during fertility treatments, but it also comes with added risks.
Always consult with a fertility specialist for personalised advice!”
