“This week’s ISUOG Education quiz question comes from A/Prof. Conrado Coutinho, who will be co-chairing our course ‘Understanding CSP and PAS: concepts, controversies and clinical practice’, taking place 12 April virtually.
A 34-year-old woman, G3P2, with two previous cesarean sections, attends her 22-week ultrasound scan. She reports no other uterine surgeries.

What is the most appropriate interpretation of these findings?
A. Normal findings in placenta previa after previous cesarean section.
B. Suspicion of placenta accreta spectrum disorder requiring referral to a specialised PAS centre.
C. Isolated placental lakes without clinical significance.
D. Indication for immediate delivery due to high risk of uterine rupture.
