Sims IVF Appoints Leading Reproductive Medicine Specialist Prof. Enda McVeigh as New Medical Director

Sims IVF, located across Ireland, has announced the appointment of internationally recognised reproductive medicine specialist Professor Enda McVeigh as its new Medical Director, further strengthening the clinic’s clinical leadership and expertise in fertility and reproductive healthcare.

Professor McVeigh joins Sims IVF with more than 30 years of experience spanning fertility care, reproductive medicine and surgery, academic research and medical education.

A Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), Professor McVeigh holds subspecialty accreditation in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and is internationally recognised for his expertise in fertility treatment and advanced laparoscopic surgery.

His appointment brings significant additional expertise to Sims IVF, particularly for patients whose fertility journey may be complicated by underlying reproductive or gynaecological conditions.

Professor McVeigh’s clinical expertise includes:

  • IVF and fertility preservation,
  • endometriosis,
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS),
  • recurrent miscarriage,
  • menstrual disorders,
  • pelvic pain,
  • as well as advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery.

Alongside his clinical career, Professor McVeigh has played an important role in research, education and the development of reproductive medicine. A Professor at the University of Oxford, he has authored numerous scientific papers and is the author of the Oxford Handbook of Reproductive Medicine and Family Planning, an internationally used clinical resource for healthcare professionals.

He is also an international conference speaker, an RCOG surgical trainer and a mentor to subspecialty trainees in reproductive medicine.

Throughout his career, Professor McVeigh has combined clinical practice with research, training and education, with patients from the UK and internationally seeking his expertise for fertility treatment and complex reproductive and gynaecological conditions.

His contribution to medicine and patient care has also received national recognition, including being named:

  • Doctor of the Year by The Times
  • Top Private Doctor by Tatler Magazine.

Professor McVeigh has now commenced his role as Medical Director and is available for patient consultations at Sims IVF.
