World PCOS Day: An Opportunity to Raise Awareness, Challenge Misconceptions, and Support Women – GFWH 2026

12th Global Summit on Gynecology, Fertility and Women’s Health (GFWH 2026) shared on LinkedIn:

“World PCOS Day – September 1

Today marks World PCOS Day and the beginning of PCOS Awareness Month – an opportunity to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, and support the millions of women affected by Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

PCOS is more than an issue related to periods or fertility. It can involve hormonal, metabolic, reproductive, and psychological health, with symptoms and experiences varying significantly from one person to another.

This World PCOS Day, let’s focus on:

  • Awareness – Recognizing the signs and understanding that PCOS can affect women differently.
  • Early evaluation – Persistent irregular periods, excess androgen-related symptoms, or fertility concerns deserve appropriate medical assessment.
  • Holistic care – PCOS management should consider reproductive health alongside metabolic and emotional wellbeing.
  • Breaking misconceptions – PCOS is not simply about weight, and having PCOS does not automatically mean infertility.
  • Research and innovation – Continued research is essential to improve diagnosis, personalized treatment, and long-term health outcomes.
  • Empowerment – Better information enables women to have informed conversations with healthcare professionals and make decisions about their health.

From Awareness to Action

PCOS requires a lifelong, individualized approach. By bringing together gynecologists, endocrinologists, fertility specialists, nutrition professionals, researchers, and patients, we can move toward more comprehensive and personalized care.

At the 12th Global Summit on Gynecology, Fertility and Women’s Health, experts from around the world will explore the latest developments in PCOS, fertility, reproductive medicine, metabolic health, women’s health, and personalized care.
