Clinical Study Supports Continued IVF After Unsuccessful First Transfer – RBMO

Reproductive BioMedicine Online (RBMO) shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Francesca Barretta et al. published in RBMO:

“This study found no significant increase in the odds of pregnancy loss in a second frozen embryo transfer (FET) among patients who experienced either a clinical- or biochemical pregnancy loss (CPL/BPL) in their first FET, regardless of whether the embryo was euploid or untested.

Similarly, the authors report no significant difference in live birth rates following a second FET after an adverse pregnancy outcome in the first FET.

Their findings provide reassurance that a failed first FET does not increase the odds of recurrence in a subsequent transfer – information crucial for counselling patients and supporting their decision-making as they continue ART treatments after an initial pregnancy loss.

The full paper is available now as a pre-proof to RBMO subscribers from our April issue, now.”
