Margaret Cali: Dear Brave Soul, a Gentle Reminder for This Week
Margaret Cali, IVF Readiness Integration Strategist, shared on LinkedIn:
“Dear Brave Soul, a gentle reminder for this week.
Each week, I share a short letter for women going through IVF. This week’s is about holding hope and fear at the same time.
Around transfer and the wait, many women feel they should sound positive. When someone asks how they’re going, they say ‘excited’, even when they’re scared. The fear can feel like a sign they’re doing IVF wrong.
What I hope she hears is that both can be true, and ‘Both’ is an honest answer.
For those of us who support women through treatment, that honest answer often tells us more than ‘I’m fine’.
How do you make room for patients to say they feel hopeful and scared at the same time?”
