Konrad Szatkowski: Czechia Could Open IVF to Single Women From July 2027
Konrad Szatkowski, Business Director, Europe at KlinikMatch, shared on LinkedIn:
”Czechia could open IVF to single women from July 2027.
One in five German patients who contact us about IVF abroad are single.
Six in ten are aged 40 or older. Two in three are still comparing clinics.
Today, single women cannot access IVF in Czechia or Poland without a man’s signature.
Spain, by contrast, allows treatment regardless of marital status.
The Czech health ministry has drafted legislation that would remove the signature requirement. The proposal still needs to progress through the legislative process, and single patients would pay for treatment themselves.
If the law changes, Czech clinics could compete for a patient segment that is already looking abroad for treatment, with many patients yet to choose a clinic.
The legislative change is still a proposal. But the patient demand is already visible in our data.”
