Resa Nabor: Fighting Cancer – A Woman’s Brave Journey
Resa Nabor, Founder and Community Advocate of PCOS Millennials, shared on LinkedIn:
“Every battle with cancer is a journey of courage, strength, and hope. Read one woman’s brave story and be inspired by her determination to keep fighting.
‘Women with PCOS are up to five times more likely to develop endometrial cancer.
But the real danger isn’t just irregular periods. It’s a hidden pipeline called endometrial hyperplasia.
To see how it starts, let’s look at a healthy layer of endometrial tissue.
Normally, this inner lining sheds every single month. But unmanaged PCOS prevents that shedding. The tissue just keeps building.
This creates a dangerously thick overgrowth – that’s endometrial hyperplasia.
This thick layer isn’t cancer yet. The real threat begins when these trapped cells structurally change. They start behaving abnormally – a pre-cancerous phase called atypia.
If left unchecked, these cells mutate, forming aggressive, finger-like projections.
This invasive takeover of the glandular cells is a disease known as adenocarcinoma.
This direct pipeline is exactly why abnormal uterine bleeding is a critical warning sign.
But this entire chain reaction can be stopped in its tracks.
By treating PCOS early, that dangerous overgrowth is completely cleared out before the cancer pipeline ever begins.’
