Arsiak Vartenian: I Spent 8 Years Trying to Become a Mother
Arsiak Vartenian, Founder and Host of Smart Is The New Sexy, shared on LinkedIn:
“I spent 8 years trying to become a mother.
But sometimes I wonder what would’ve happened if I couldn’t afford to keep trying.
6 IVF cycles.
Numerous miscarriages.
And 2 surrogacy journeys.
Every step came with an emotional cost.
But also a financial one.
And while I was fortunate enough to keep going, I know some women never get that chance.
Not because they want a baby any less.
Not because they’ve given up.
But because they simply can’t afford another attempt.
Imagine having to put a price on something you’ve dreamed about your entire life.
Imagine knowing there might be another option, another treatment, another chance…
But it’s completely out of your reach.
That’s the reality for so many women struggling with infertility.
And it breaks my heart.
I’m incredibly grateful that my journey eventually led me to my daughter.
But I can’t stop thinking about the women whose journeys end because they run out of money.
The chance to become a mother shouldn’t depend on how much money you have.
P.S. Do you think fertility treatments should be more accessible and covered by insurance?”
