Diana Kayal: Some of the Things That Affect Fertility are Sitting in Your Kitchen Cupboard
Diana Kayal, Reproductive Endocrinologist at FertiClinic PRC Fertility Centre, shared on LinkedIn:
“We talk a lot about what happens inside the clinic. But some of the things that affect fertility are sitting in your kitchen cupboard.
PFAS, often called forever chemicals, are man-made compounds used to make things non-stick, greaseproof, and water-resistant. The problem is they don’t break down easily, so they build up in the body over time. Research has linked higher exposure to effects on fertility and pregnancy.
This isn’t about fear or throwing everything out. It’s about a few small, informed choices:
- Filter your drinking water
- Replace old scratched non-stick pans
- Cut back on greasy food packaging
- Read the labels on your cosmetics
You can’t avoid everything, and you don’t need to. Small changes add up.
Save this for later, and share it with someone who’d want to know.”
