Blair Wylie: The Effects of Climate Change on Obstetric and Gynecologic Health
Blair Wylie, Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) ‘s new committee statement, The Effects of Climate Change on Obstetric and Gynecologic Health, could not be more timely as we witness unprecedented heat waves even earlier in the warm season this year. As obstetrician-gynecologists, we need to use our voice to promote healthy environments for all women across the globe, educate clinicians about the risks specific to our patients, and advocate for research to better understand the burden of disease and identify scalable strategies to mitigate risks. Thank you to ACOG’s Committee on Advancing Equity in Obstetric and Gynecologic Health Care for their focus on this critical topic and to Dr. Maria Small and Dr. Lisa Nathan for leading the writing.
If you have not yet read the statement, you can find it here.”
