Maria Cristina Sangiovanni: Our New IJGO Study Explores Flat Glucose Response Curve in Pregnancy
Maria Cristina Sangiovanni, OBGYN Specialist at ASL Roma, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I am truly honored to see our research published in such a prestigious journal! International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics
What if the glucose tolerance test in pregnancy didn’t just have a diagnostic cutoff for gestational diabetes, but there was so much more we still don’t know?
This is the question that drove our latest study, just published in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Analyzing over 47,000 pregnancies, we found that an unusually flat glucose response curve (FC) identifies a distinct metabolic phenotype with a clear impact on perinatal outcomes.
