Peter Humaidan: Impact of Sperm DNA Integrity on Embryo Quality and Live Birth in IVF
Peter Humaidan, Clinical Director at pMorph Ltd, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper published in Andrology:
“In this new multi-centre study we again highlight the biological relevance of sperm DNA integrity for IVF reproductive outcomes. Importantly, we report that higher levels of double-stranded sperm DNA fragmentation, measured using the neutral Comet assay, are associated with poorer IVF success rates, including lower embryo quality and lower live birth rates. The findings suggest that assessing double-strand DNA damage could improve male fertility evaluation and help guide a more personalised treatment strategy in ART.”
