Paola Fasola: The Value of Time: Reflections from ESHRE 2026
Paola Fasola, Senior Global Medical Affairs Manager of Fertility and Endocrinology at IBSA Group, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The value of time: reflections from ESHRE 2026
Although ESHRE 2026 in London has only recently concluded, the excitement, inspiration and scientific energy that define this unique event are still very much alive.
This year’s congress offered a valuable platform for the reproductive medicine community to exchange ideas and discuss key challenges in Human Reproduction. IBSA was proud to contribute to this dialogue through two complementary scientific sessions:
- Our Company Session focused on the physiology of follicular development, exploring the role of endogenous androgens and hCG-mediated LH activity during ovarian stimulation and discussing how a deeper understanding of these mechanisms may help translate physiology into improved clinical decision-making and patient outcomes. With Samir Hamamah, Laura Rienzi, Claus Yding Andersen, Noemie Ranisavljevic.
- Our Symposium took a different perspective. Rather than discussing treatments, with the help of a fantastic faculty (Richard Anderson, Anja Pinborg, Jacky Boivin, Joyce Harper, Nikolaos Polyzos and Ernesto Bosch Aparicio) we invited leading ART experts to reflect on a broader question: Why are fewer people having children despite still wanting families?
The discussion explored declining fertility rates, fertility awareness, fertility preservation and reproductive ageing, ultimately converging on one common denominator: time.
Time influences when people start families, how long they postpone parenthood, and ultimately the reproductive opportunities available to them. In many ways, reproductive medicine is a discipline that works with time every single day.
At IBSA Group, we believe that innovation should help give time back: time to physicians through efficient and evidence-based therapeutic solutions; time to patients through treatments designed to be effective from the start; and time to healthcare professionals through continuous medical education that supports learning and growth at every stage of a career—from those entering the field to the most experienced experts.
Because time is our most valuable resource.
Special thanks to IBSA Specialty Pharma Global Team: Silvia Sebastiani, Paola Quagliucci, Joel Formisano Garriga, Claudio Lezzi, Diana Bellotti, Anna Alinari Vannetti, Edoardo Paglione.”
