Devyanshi Dixit: Building Healthier Futures Through Reproductive Health Education

Devyanshi Dixit, Conference Manager at the 12th Global Summit on Gynecology, Fertility and Women’s Health, and Program Manager at CLS Event and Publication, shared on LinkedIn:

“International Youth Day: Building Healthier Futures Through Reproductive Health Education

Today, August 12, we recognize International Youth Day and the importance of giving young people the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health.

Sexual and reproductive health education is not simply about preventing problems – it is about understanding the body, recognizing early warning signs, and knowing when and where to seek appropriate care.

What Should Young People Know?

  • Menstrual Health
Understanding cycles, abnormal bleeding, severe period pain, and when medical advice may be needed.
  • Fertility Awareness
Learning how age, lifestyle, reproductive conditions, and overall health can influence future fertility.
  • STI Awareness and Prevention
Knowing how infections spread, how they can be prevented, and why timely testing matters.
  • Consent and Healthy Relationships
Understanding boundaries, respect, communication, and informed choices.
  • Recognizing Reproductive Conditions
Awareness of conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, and hormonal disorders can encourage earlier evaluation.
  • Why Education Matters
A well-informed young person is better equipped to protect their health today and make informed choices about tomorrow.

On International Youth Day, let’s move beyond awareness toward accessible, evidence-based reproductive health education for every young person.

The 12th Global Summit on Gynecology, Fertility and Women’s Health (GFWH 2026) supports scientific discussions around reproductive health, fertility, menstrual health, preventive care, and innovations in women’s healthcare.
