Negin Asadi։ How Does the Blastocyst Attach to the Uterus?
Negin Asadi, PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Reproductive and Developmental Biology) at Victoria University of Wellington, shared a post on LinkedIn by Anthea B. M. Paul et al. published in the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics։
“How Does the Blastocyst Attach to the Uterus?
- Microvilli on the blastocyst interact with endometrial pinopodes, facilitating close contact.
- ErbB4 on the blastocyst interacts with HB-EGF on the endometrial surface, a pathway influenced by LIF.
- Integrin αvβ3 on the embryo interacts with osteopontin in the endometrium, supporting adhesion.
- L-selectin on the blastocyst recognises selectin ligands on the maternal surface, contributing to the initial attachment process.”
