Asma Khalil: Vaccination Effects on Fertility

Asma Khalil, Professor and Director of the Fetal Medicine Unit at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“When you’re thinking about having a baby, it’s natural to question anything that might affect your fertility.

Unfortunately, misinformation around vaccines and fertility can make those decisions harder than they need to be.

The reassuring message is that the evidence does not support claims that vaccination harms fertility. And importantly, a temporary change in a menstrual cycle is not the same as a change in someone’s ability to conceive.

People planning a pregnancy deserve to make decisions based on good evidence, with the confidence to ask questions and discuss any concerns with their healthcare professional.”
