Margaret Cali: Sometimes Preparation for IVF Becomes Another Layer of Pressure…
Margaret Cali, IVF Readiness Integration Strategist, shared on LinkedIn:
“Dear Brave Soul
A woman may be doing everything she can to feel ready for IVF.
- Reading.
- Planning.
- Researching.
- Keeping up with appointments.
- Trying to stay positive.
- Trying not to worry the people around her.
And still carrying more than anyone can see.
That does not mean she is doing anything wrong.
Sometimes preparation becomes another layer of pressure.
More information.
More responsibility.
More expectation that she should somehow feel calm before treatment begins.
But readiness is not the absence of fear.
Sometimes it begins with noticing what is already there.
- The tiredness.
- The questions.
- The uncertainty.
The part of her that has been quietly pushing through.
For those working in fertility care, one useful place to begin may be:
What is she carrying that has not yet had space to be acknowledged?
She does not have to resolve all of it before treatment begins.
But being able to name it may help create a different kind of preparation.
IVF prepares the body.
Emotional readiness prepares the woman as a whole.”
