Alice Huang: Improving IVF Success with PGT-A and Its Benefits
Alice Huang, Gynaecologist, IVF and Fertility Specialist at Genea Melbourne City, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“One way to help identify embryos with the best chance of developing into a healthy pregnancy is PGT-A.
PGT-A stands for Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy.
This is a technique we can use during an IVF cycle to screen embryos for chromosomal abnormalities before transfer.
PGT-A may be recommended in specific situations—for example, after multiple unsuccessful IVF cycles, recurrent miscarriages, or advanced maternal age over 38.
It’s not suitable for everyone, and it’s important to understand the limitations, costs, and implications of testing. But when used appropriately, it may help us reduce the risk of miscarriage and improve the chance of a successful implantation.
Working with Genea Melbourne City, I am very proud to be able to guide my patients through all their treatment options, every step of the way, including PGT-A.”
