Camille A. Clare and Willie Underwood Ill Highlight Coding Changes for Every Stage of Pregnancy – ACOG
American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Maternity care in the United States is not the same as it was three decades ago. ACOG President Camille A. Clare, and AMA President Willie Underwood Ill, came together to discuss how the new obstetric codes going into effect January 1, 2027, will help bring coding for obstetric services up to speed with today’s standards of care.
These coding changes are a win for patients and physicians alike. They reflect the reality of modern obstetric care, which centers on ob-gyns caring for their patients through every stage of pregnancy to meet their individualized needs. This system will help physicians better deliver evidence-based care by facilitating greater transparency, data quality, and measurement and improve transparency around cost-sharing for patients.
