Restoring Dignity Through Specialised Fistula Care – FIGO
FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“After 25 years living with an obstetric fistula, Zahra (name changed) has finally been cured through specialised care supported by the FIGO Fistula Training Initiative in Afghanistan.
Her journey, shared in a FIGO blog by Dr Atia Sharifnadi, highlights the life-changing impact of timely referral, multidisciplinary surgical care and investment in training local specialists. With the right support, recovery is possible and women living with fistula can regain health, dignity and hope.
