Practical Advice to Help Pregnant Women Stay Safe During Periods of Extreme Heat – FIGO
FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Heatwaves can pose additional risks during pregnancy, as the body produces more heat and may find it harder to regulate temperature.
FIGO has published practical advice to help pregnant women stay safe during periods of extreme heat. Key recommendations include:
- Stay well hydrated
- Keep cool and avoid the hottest part of the day
- Wear light, breathable clothing
- Know the warning signs of heat-related illness and seek medical care if you feel unwell or notice changes in your baby’s movements.
