Kathiuska Kriedt: Good News Is Never Only About the Science
Kathiuska Kriedt, Fertility Consultant at Fertility Professionals, shared on LinkedIn:
“Fertility Awareness Week is a reminder of how much our patients carry, and how much our teams carry alongside them.
Today, a patient was waiting on a pregnancy scan. Those days are quiet in a particular way. Every day we talk through symptoms, or the lack of them, and we hold a little of our patients’ hope with them. I was apprehensive right up until today’s results. All good for her.
Good news is never only about the science. It’s the nurses, embryologists, coordinators, and doctors who checked, rechecked, and hopefully kept patients informed at every step.
So this week, I want to say to everyone what we say to our patients: you’re seen, your work matters, and it’s okay when it’s hard.
Fertility Awareness Week is also about education. Many people don’t realise how common fertility challenges are or how many options exist. If you’re on this journey, or supporting someone who is, you’re not alone, and asking questions is always ok.”
